Mansoureya Fence and Guard Room
The Mansoureya Fence and Guard Room project explores brick craftsmanship, using Metropolymer bricks, locally upcycled bricks made from surplus materials from construction sites and factories. The Mansoureya Fence and Guard Room is a design-and-build project that initiated a series of works using the same material.

Project Description
The Mansoureya Fence and Guard Room is a design-and-build project that redefines brick craftsmanship through both material innovation and construction efficiency. Using Metropolymer bricks, locally upcycled bricks made from surplus materials sourced from construction sites and factories, the project champions sustainable practices while celebrating the tactile and visual qualities of masonry.
The structure employs a load-bearing system, eliminating the need for excessive steel reinforcement. This approach not only reduces costs but also minimizes the environmental footprint, making the project a model for resource-conscious building. The high quality of the Metropolymer bricks allows the building to remain exposed both inside and out, removing the need for additional exterior or interior finishes and further cutting down on materials, labor, and expense.
By using the brick as a dimensional module, the design team was able to explore a wide range of geometric possibilities, resulting in a form that is both functional and expressive. As the first in a series of projects using this material palette, the Mansoureya Fence and Guard Room sets the stage for continued experimentation at the intersection of sustainability, craftsmanship, and design innovation.
