The pearling Path
The design of the mosque aims to respect the historical urban setting of Al-Muharraq. Situated on the pearling path, the mosque respects the scale of Shaikh Issa Bin Ali's house.
Rammed Earth
The choice of rammed earth as a load bearing structure for the mosque aims to help the design blend in its context and maintaining the characted of the urban setting. Coral stones which are quarried from the remains of older buildings is used as the base of the rammed earth walls.
